Geomatics - Topographic Survey for Gordonbush Wind Farm
Star Net Geomatics was commissioned by Scottish & Southern Energy (as part of our Framework Agreement) to carry out a topographic survey at a proposed wind farm development near Brora in the north of Scotland.
The contract required topographic survey of the proposed turbine locations, access road, borrow pits, compounds, etc. The survey was carried out using GPS real-time kinematic methods in the open areas with total station work in the treed areas. We used 4x4 vehicles and our ArgoCAT 8x8 vehicle to gain access to the remote parts of the site.
The survey was completed within our client’s timescale and to his satisfaction. Deliverables were 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings, paper plots and digital photography.
