Laser Scanning Survey of Wind Turbine Convoy.
Star Net Geomatics has been appointed to carry out laser scanning surveys at two different locations for swept path and collision analysis. The survey team will firstly travel to North East England to carry out the laser survey of a Turbine Transporter Vehicle and then move to a village in Herefordshire near the Welsh border to survey the main road. The client will receive a 3D visualization of the 2 surveys merged together that will show how the vehicle convoy will interact with the surrounding area and whether or not there will be clashes with buildings or utilities along the way.
The laser scanning technology is the most effective method to quickly evaluate potential clashes between 3Dmensional objects. The client will then be able to carry out a desktop study and evaluate alternative routes without needing to even step onsite.
