BBC One Show - The Highest Village in Britain.
The BBC's popular One Show have regular features on superlatives throughout the UK. Star Net were asked to assist the Ordnance Survey in determining the height above sea level of the highest village in Scotland - Wanlockhead. Both Wanlockhead and the village of Flash in Staffordshire claim to be the highest village in Britain. The One show set out to prove definitively which has the higher. In both villages the threshold level of the highest dwelling was levelled relative to Ordnance Survey Benchmarks.
The final results proved that Flash was the higher village with a level of 1558ft (475m) to Wanlockhead's 1456ft (444m).
