Star Net Surveys for New Island Windfarm
Star Net Geomatics has recently been commissioned to carry out a topographic survey of an existing windfarm on the island of Sanday in Orkney. The Spurness windfarm site extends to over 80 hectares and includes 3 existing wind turbines and an area for a further 3 new turbines. The current output of the site is 8.2MW. The existing turbines are due to be replaced with higher output units.
The site is very open, so the majority of the survey detail will be observed using RTK GPS equipment. This project is the latest in a long line of renewables projects carried out by our geomatics department across Scotland.
