Oil and Gas
Drilling - Petrochemical - Subsea - Ship Building
In the fast moving environment of the Oil & Gas industry mistakes are costly therefore a reliable and robust measurement system is pre requisite for most applications. Star Net Geomatics continuously operates on "high-end" survey projects and is renowned for applying its multi skilled experience in any field where fast and precise dimensional measurement are required. Star Net surveying experience, cost-effectiveness and safety track record has secured the trust of some major players in the Oil & Gas
sector leading to successfull collaborations.

The Technology
Complex and hazardous structures such as offshore oil rigs, refineries, and industrial plants are easily and quickly surveyed by means of this new technology which is the least intrusive (i.e. minimised H&S issues) and implies no need to return to site (i.e. one survey is enough to gather all the data required). This data coupled with GPS and hi-quality photography provides very highly detailed and precise 2D CAD drawings/3D models/visuals which can be then be utilised as an as-built record for retrofitting and front end engineering design.
In addition, Star Net Geomatics adds value by providing all deliverables on a web-based interface which drastically simplifies Asset Visualisation and Management called Star Net isite. This user-friendly, customer-branded web portal allows drastic OpEx and HSE costs reduction by enabling multiple project engineers to remotely view, measure and manage survey data such as drawings, photography, 3D models, etc from anywhere in the world.
Underwater Metrology - NEW
The combination of laser and sonar scanning technology coupled with Star Net's extensive experience in advanced data processing techniques provides a unique and innovative solution to complex underwater metrology projects.
Star Net has been involved in the development of the BlueView's sonar system for metrology use for the last 18 month, working in conjunction with Seatronics and Technip. To date Star Net is the recommended execution contractor for BlueView surveys both inspection and metrology. Star Net has worked with Talisman, Technip, Oceaneering, Fugro, and NCS Survey over the past 12 months, executing metrologies for example at Thistle, Islay & Forvie and Auk North.
